Chia seeds have started to become popular because of their health benefits. They contain fiber, protein, antioxidants, minerals and omega 3 fatty acids. More research needs to be done to determine the benefits of chia, but the current studies suggest that chia may aid with weight loss, decrease blood pressure, and lower triglycerides and cholesterol.
Chia seeds can be eaten cooked or raw. They have similar health benefits to flax, but they can be stored longer and hey do not have to be ground up in order to be used.
