The National Sleep Foundation’s 2013 Sleep in America poll found that late night exercise does not hinder sleep. In fact, people who exercise – no matter what time of day – sleep better and are more well rested than those who don’t exercise. Further, those who exercise earlier in the day do not sleep any better or worse than those who exercise later in the day.
Exercise is important for both sleep and health, and it is important to find a convenient time to exercise. It is time to forget the old rule that one shouldn’t exercise in the evening before bedtime and get moving, no matter the time of the day.
