Stereotypes are prevalent in American society. How many movies depict jocks as dumb and nerds as weak and scrawny? A new study shows that the movie industry may have to change this stereotype and begin casting brains as brawny!
The journal PLOS online (Public Library of Science) published a study showing that children who are more physically fit have better memory and cogntive function. This is especially prevalent when children are commmitting new knowledge into memory.
This is just another reason to encourage our children go outside and play ball, ride their bikes, or go to aerobics classes. Research suggests that kids will get better grades if they incoporate more fitness into their lives. Exercise is good for our hearts and bodies, including our brains. Physical activity is a no-brainer!!!
