Food Companies Finally Listening

Last week, Kellogg announced that is planned to eliminate artificial colors and flavors in its cereal and snacks by 2018. General Mills Inc. has also said that is plans to have 90% of its cereals free of artificial colors and flavors by the end of 2016. Both companies have shown declining sales since more Americans are choosing less processed foods and meals due to health concerns. This is great news for all Americans since synthetic ingredients have been shown to increase the risk of cancer, increase hyperactivity in children and contribute to the obesity epidemic. Hopefully more and more companies will follow suit so we have more all-natural foods available to live healthier lives.
