Sea moss has been getting attention over social media as the new "it" supplement. It is being advocated as a superfood that improves digestion, skin, and the immune system. Sea moss, also known as Irish moss, is a type of seaweed. It is high in carrageenan and rich in amino acids, omega 3 fatty acids, magnesium and iodine.Due to its high carrageenan content, sea moss can improve digestion since it acts as a prebiotic. Prebiotics are a type of fiber that feeds the microbiota and improves gut health.
