Doggone Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a common problem, especially for some of those suffering from IBS. Diarrhea is defined as loose and watery stools, which are often more frequent. This can be a difficult an embarrassing situation for many who need to rush to find a bathroom while trying to work and live their lives.The first step in treating diarrhea is to ensure adequate water to prevent dehydration. For food, stick to easy to digest and plain food. Choose meat, fish, poultry and white rice potatoes, meat and bread. Vegetables, fruit (except for bananas!) and fats may aggravate diarrhea. Additionally, eliminate lactose, dairy, fructose and artificial sweeteners, which may be exacerbate the condition.As far as treatment, try activated charcoal, Imodium or Pepto Bismol for symptom relief. If IBS is the case of your diarrhea, it is important to determine the cause - whether a food intolerance, SIBO, or parasite or bacteria.
