Turmeric for Inflammation

Turmeric is a spice that contains the active compound curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory benefits. It comes from the root of the plant and is yellow in color.  Turmeric is a main ingredient in curry powders. It is also  found in many teas. Turmeric can also be taken in capsules, powder or tinctures.Research shows that turmeric helps reduce cancer, improve hay fever, boost mood and decrease depression, lower triglycerides, improve osteoarthritis and reduce itching. It has also been shown to ease pain and improve digestion and liver function.Sometimes very high doses of turmeric may cause GI upset, lowered blood pressure and increased risk of bleeding. Most people tolerate turmeric without any issues. The dosage of turmeric varies depending on the ailment.
