What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are tiny versions of edible herbs and vegetables - they are the young seedlings harvested before the leaves have developed and matured. They are higher in vitamins, mineral and antioxidants and have a big, intense flavor. They are produced quickly and can be made from any type of vegetable or herb. Historically, they have been used as a garnish, but you can use them in salads.

Microgreens can have up to 40x more nutrients than their full grown and mature counterparts. They are high in polyphenols, which have been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and other chronic diseases.

They are easy to grow and can be grown indoors all year round or they can be purchased already grown. They are also often sold as a prepackaged or as a supplement.
